Purpose

This prototypes the practice stage intended for embedding in Rise Lesson 3. It covers all four objectives across three cases, and guidance fades with each one. Case 1 is scaffolded step by step. Case 2 gives a single, less guided decision in which learners have to open the record themselves. Case 3 is the final challenge, with critical scoring and a case-note task.

Branching and feedback

Critical scoring

Extra clicks can’t make up for an unsafe remedy. In Case 3, an incorrect critical decision sets CriticalError, shows targeted feedback, and requires a fresh attempt at that decision. PracticeComplete is set only after all three cases are resolved and the case-note self-review is finished. The case note is reviewed by the learner and isn’t scored automatically for meaning.

Feedback panelsSlide layers per choice, with “hide other layers” and the base layer’s Submit disabled while a layer is open
Customer moodCharacter states (Frustrated, Guarded, Calmer, Satisfied) changed by triggers on layer timeline start
Policy and Case fileLightbox slide (S01) and a case-file lightbox whose text references variables
Logic panelPrototype-only view of the proposed variables in the authoring spec
Restricted menuPlayer menu set to restricted navigation
CompletionCompletion trigger on PracticeComplete, then configured and tested in the Rise Storyline block

Still to verify in the native build

Focus order, how screen readers read layers and lightboxes, keyboard operation of every control, text scaling, mobile player behavior, and how completion reaches Rise. This prototype doesn’t claim WCAG conformance or LMS tracking.
